What is West Quad?

Is West Quad part of UNC Greensboro or North Carolina A&T?

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at West Quad has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at West Quad pays a flat rate that includes:

  • Optional furniture package (additional charge)
  • In-unit laundry
  • High-speed internet
  • Water/sewer
  • Trash disposal
  • Community features – green spaces, study rooms, etc.

What size are the apartments?

The spacious accommodations at West Quad range from 3 to 4 bedroom apartments, with a single bedroom for each resident and available private bathrooms.

Are the apartments furnished?

West Quad offers an optional furniture package available for an additional cost. The furniture package includes a full-size bed, desk and chair and dresser in each bedroom; the living room includes a sofa, chair and coffee table.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 12, 2024 to July 21, 2025, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates are available; please inquire with our staff. Click here for a sample agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to do one of two things: provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent), or pre-pay the final 2 installments.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. West Quad also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at West Quad?

Your living costs at West Quad can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at West Quad. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is West Quad open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at West Quad are students at University of North Carolina at Greensboro or North Carolina A&T State University and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Residents/families with children are welcome. There is no extra cost for minor children in the care of adult residents, other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. A minor occupying a bedroom space rented by a parent, guardian or person with legal custody is not considered a breach of the Housing Agreement or a violation of the rules. West Quad is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. In order to match student roommates in shared apartments, we will request roommate consent for any non-student occupants.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

West Quad has a monitored fire-sprinkler system and individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

West Quad is a pet-friendly community, subject to limits on animals and breeds. The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent spaces. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of apartment-mates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at West Quad?

Yes, West Quad offers free on-site parking for residents and guests.

What other transportation options will I have?

A HEAT bus stop and a stop for GTA bus #1 are conveniently located right in front of the community on Spring Garden Street, and run to each campus. West Quad also has bike racks on site.

Can I see a model apartment?

You can request an appointment for a personal tour, or just stop by to see us and we’ll be happy to show you the community.
